AUDITION NOTICEThe rock musical spoof of 1950's Sci-Fi and horror movies, strange creations, bizarre seductions and sexual confusion.. .for some. On the way to visit an old college professor, newly engaged Janet Weiss and Brad Majors from Denton, Ohio, are driving in a rainstorm when they have a flat tire. They seek help at an eerie "Frankenstein" mansion. What they don't know is that the mansion is inhabited by aliens from the planet Transsexual in the Galaxy of Transylvania. And Dr. Frank-N-Furter is about to unveil his latest creation.
ROLES TO BE CAST:
Frank 'N' Furter - male, age 20 & up, a bi-sexual transvestite alien, must be comfortable wearing bikini panties, corset, fishnet stockings, stiletto heels, showing flesh, and physical contact with both men and women, High Baritone or Versatile Tenor.
Brad Majors - male, age 20-27, comfortable wearing tighty whiteys only, Tenor.
Janet Weiss - female, age 19-27, comfortable wearing bra, panties and slip only, Mezzo-Soprano.
Riff -Raff - male, age 20-50, Rock-n-Roll Tenor Belt
Magenta - female, age 20-50, alien, sings more than in the film, Alto Belt
Columbia - female, age 20-35, loves dressing like a movie musical, must tap or have tap experience, Mezzo or Soprano Character Voice.
Rocky - male, age 20-30ish, must be muscular, blonde hair or willing to bleach, must be comfortable in bikini swimsuit, HAS DIALOGUE unlike the film, Rock Tenor
Eddie - male, age 20-35, a bad boy, Jerry
Lee Lewis type Tenor
Dr. Scott - male, 40-60, professor, German accent, in a wheelchair, but does show legs in fishnets and heels Bass Baritone.
Narrator - Pre-Cast
Phantoms (Sometimes called Transylvanians) - male and female, age 16 & up, all vocal ranges, some tap a plus.
ALL ACTORS - MUST BE STRONG SINGERS and DANCE or MOVE WELL. ALL ACTORS must be comfortable in skimpy or tight fitting clothing, showing flesh (no nudity), heterosexual and homosexual situations, walking and dancing in stilettos (except Narrator, Eddie, Dr. Scott), being wild and outrageous and taking chances.
Prepare - One upbeat 1950's or musical theatre song. Verse and chorus. You may use songs from the show. Bring sheet music in the correct key. Prefer you not sing to a recording, but will be acceptable if that's all that is available. No a capella. Bring a headshot and resume if available. A photo will be taken. Please allow one hour. Audition forms and conflict calendar (required at audition) are available for download at nosquare.org. This is a community theatre production. No AEA. There is no pay.
