Laguna Playhouse was recently awarded a grant of $5,000 from National Finance Partners (NFP) to provide support and for its year-round education programs, according to the Playhouse's Director of Youth Theatre, Education and Outreach Donna Inglima. The grant was brought to the Playhouse through Past Chairperson, Visit Laguna Beach and Laguna Playhouse 90th Anniversary Chairperson Karyn Philippsen.
"We are so grateful to Karyn Philippsen for letting the NFP know about our youth theatre program. This will go a long way toward strengthening and growing our program," said Inglima.
"The Laguna Playhouse and Laguna Playhouse Youth Theatre are an important institution in our Laguna Beach community," noted Philippsen. "When NFP contacted me about an organization to support, it was clear that youth education was in-line with NFP's commitment to the communities they serve."
"Support of our Youth Education Program helps us provide innovative, high quality arts education for approximately 5,000 youth throughout the year," adds Laguna Playhouse Board Co-Chair, Joe Hanauer.
"At NFP, every day we make a conscious choice to take care of the communities in which we live and work. From charity drives and community service outings to other company-sponsored events, our employees donate their time and raise funds on behalf of great causes across the country. We felt like Laguna Playhouse and their good work with youth and the arts was a perfect recipient and opportunity for us to give back during our time in the breathtakingly beautiful Laguna Beach/Newport Beach area." said Robin L. Johnston, Vice President, Business Development.
