2017 SCFTA Summer Movie Monday line-up:

• "Breakfast at Tiffany's" - July 10

• "The Wiz" - July 17

• "Stand and Deliver" - July 24

• "Edward Scissorhands" - July 31

• "School of Rock" - August 7

Summer has once again returned to Orange County, California and with it, Segerstrom Center for the Arts' annual outdoor free-for-all movie screenings! The Center's popular FREE MOVIE MONDAYS---back for its 11th consecutive year in Costa Mesa---returns this summer to provide So Cal residents a family-friendly atmosphere for fun-filled audience activities, community picnic dinners, popular food trucks, and prize-giveaways at their Arts Plaza, culminating, of course, with a different fan-favorite movie as soon as the sun sets.

The 2017 Movie Mondays series line-up will showcase beloved movies from five decades: 1961's classic "Breakfast at Tiffany's" starring Audrey Hepburn on July 10, 1978's soulful Oz revamp "The Wiz" starring Diana Ross and Michael Jackson on July 17, 1988's fact-based "Stand and Deliver" on July 24, 1990's Tim Burton masterpiece "Edward Scissorhands" on July 31 and, finally, 2003's "School of Rock" (the original film that inspired the Broadway stage musical that will be arriving this upcoming season at SCFTA) on August 7. The showings are, as always, FREE and, for the first time, the Center will provide closed-captioning for the screenings.

Because of on-going construction for the plaza's planned revitalization, the 2017 screenings will be shown on the lawn next to the Renée and Henry Segerstrom Concert Hall, which will be the site for the new Orange County Museum of Art. Families, friends and fans from all over the Southland are encouraged to arrive early for Movie Mondays, to claim their spaces and to enjoy early dinners, music, games, and people-watching.

Set-up begins at 5:30 p.m., with movies starting at dusk (approximately 8 p.m.). Guests may bring beach chairs or other easily portable seating items, snacks and picnic suppers. Each Monday will feature different food trucks serving culinary sensations. Barbecues and similar food preparation are not permitted, and, due to space limitations this year, guests are asked to not bring tables. Prior to each screening, there will be audience participation events.
