2015 summer movie line-up includes:
In what has become an annual favorite free outdoor film series in Orange County, Segerstrom Center for the Arts' FREE MOVIE MONDAYS---returning for its ninth year---will continue the popular summer pastime of providing great movie screenings on the Arts Plaza for OC audiences to enjoy.
Each year, thousands of film lovers gather on the Center's Arts Plaza to enjoy evenings of free fun-filled activities, outdoor dining, and, of course, screenings of five films on consecutive Mondays. This year's series kicks off on July 13 with the zany two-time Academy Award®-nominated movie musical adaptation of the stage hit Little Shop of Horrors.
The rest of the line-up includes: the hit a cappella comedy Pitch Perfect, starring Anna Kendrick and Rebel Wilson (and this year's winner of the Audience Fan Favorite Poll); the summer coming-of-age film The Sandlot; the Julia Roberts hit My Best Friend's Wedding; and, finally, Steven Spielberg's mega-hit sci-fi crowd-pleaser E.T.: The Extra Terrestrial.
As usual, families and fans from all over the Southland arrive early to stake their places on the Arts Plaza and enjoy early dinners, music, special games, and people watching. Since the movies are projected on the side of Segerstrom Hall, everyone has a great seat!
Set-up begins at 5:30 p.m., with the movie starting at dusk (approximately 8 p.m.). Guests are encouraged to bring beach chairs or other easily portable seating items, snacks and picnic suppers. Each Monday will also feature different food trucks serving culinary sensations throughout each screening. Barbecues and similar food preparation are not permitted. And prior to each screening (starting around 7:30 p.m.) there will be audience participation events!
