The Great American Mousical, running at Legacy Theatre from July 26 to July 28, is a lively tribute to the world of musical comedy through the eyes of an acting troupe of mice. Set in the historic Sovereign Theatre, the story unfolds as the troupe rehearses for their new production while facing the threat of demolition and the disappearance of their diva, Adelaide, leading them to rally together to ensure that the show must go on. The cast features Kelley Alejos, David Beach, Thomas Beebe, and Anne Runolfsson among others, with direction by Andrew and choreography by Christopher Gattelli. The musical boasts a score by Zina Goldrich and lyrics by Marcy Heisler, based on the book by Julie Andrews and Emma Walton Hamilton.
