In honor of Black History Month, Emerson Theater Collaborative kicks off their 10th season with a Dinner Theater production of Katori Hall's play THE MOUNTAINTOP, which reimagines Dr. Martin Luther King Jr’s last night before his assassination. The production will run from February 9 – 11, 2018 at Mystic Marriott Hotel & Spa, 625 North Rd (Route 117) in Groton, CT. The play is directed by Theresa Broach and produced by Lisa Giordano, Theresa Broach & Camilla Ross. The cast features NYC actors, Charles Everett and Evelyn Maria Dia.

THE MOUNTAINTOP is a fictional depiction about Reverend Martin Luther King Jr.’s last night on earth set in Room 306 of Lorraine Motel on the eve of his assassination in 1968. It won an Olivier Award in 2010 and premiered on Broadway in 2011 starring Samuel L. Jackson and Angela Bassett. The play is being produced with special arrangement by the Dramatist Play Service.

On Friday and Saturday, February 9th and 10th, the Dinner Theater production includes: cocktails at 6 p.m., dinner at 7 p.m. and the performance at 8 p.m., and on Sunday, February 11th, cocktails are at 3 p.m., dinner at 4 p.m. and the performance begins at 5 p.m.
