Description: Written by the Tony Award-winning team of Maury Yeston (music and lyrics) and Arthur Kopit (book), and based on Gaston Leroux’s 1910 novel “The Phantom of the Opera”, the romantic musical takes a fresh look at the mysterious young phantom, Erik, who lives in the catacombs of the Paris Opera House and shares glorious music with the enchanting vocal prodigy, Christine. Not to be confused with Andrew Lloyd Webber’s 1986 mega-musical, the Yeston and Kopit version, more operetta-like in musical style, seeks to more closely reflect the Leroux novel and offers a deeper exploration of the phantom’s past.
BYOB & Picnic: As always, you are welcomed to bring whatever you would like to eat or drink to the performance.
