Pianist Misha Dichter, one of America’s most popular artists, and clarinetist Oskar Espina Ruiz, Music Mountain artistic director, will join forces for a special presentation of the Brahms Clarinet Sonatas on June 18. These two late Brahms master works are enveloped by piano solo works: Debussy Suite bergamasque, and a set by Liszt, Funèrailles, La lugubre gondola No. 2, and Hungarian Rhapsody No. 15 in A Minor. The Washington Post wrote: “in three of Liszt Hungarian Rhapsodies, Dichter could do no wrong. Here the pianist was clearly in his element–the virtuoso doing what he does best, dazzling on the high wire with only a rapt audience below.” Oskar Espina Ruiz, a “masterful soloist” (La Nación, Costa Rica) is thrilled to premier at Music Mountain the Brahms sonatas in their original version for clarinet and piano.
