NPT is know for their edgy take on the summer shows they produce which always include Broadway pros, local adult and youth actors, as well as a team of professional directors and designers. SUMMARY: New Yorkbased songwriter Albert Peterson (Patrick Heffernan) finds himself in trouble when his client, hip-thrusting rock and roll superstar and teen idol Conrad Birdie (Cameron Burrill), is drafted into the Army, leaving his heavily indebted firm in jeopardy. Alberts longtime girlfriend, Rosie (Jamie Karen), comes up with a last-ditch PR stunt to have Albert to write a new tune One Last Kiss that Birdie will perform on television to a fan chosen randomly from his fan club. The scheme works, with young Ohio teenager Kim McAfee (Laura Jean Spineli) declared the winner, but no one has counted on the jealous wrath of her boyfriend, Hugo (Bailey Jamieson) or the wrath of her parents. Hit songs include Put on a Happy Face, One Last Kiss, One Boy, A Lot of Livin to Do, Kids!, and Rosie.Broadway performers Jamie Karen and Patrick Heffernan lead the cast as Rose and Albert. Randye Kaye (Radio star, Broadway, TV performer) plays Mae Peterson. This summers show also features some cameo performances from our partner nonprofit, The American Veterans, in key rolesas well as Lucia Rilling as The Mayors Wife.NPT is thrilled that director Courtney Self is at the helm of our interesting take on this musical theatre classic. Collaborating on her concept are technical director Mark Holleran (Holleran Media) and technical adviser and Emmy nom, Scott Bryce. Musician extraordinaire Chris Coogan leads the musical side of this rock and roll show.
