The Windham Theatre Guild presents the Connecticut Premiere of Pamela Parker's Second Samuel, a winner at the American Association of Community Theatre's Festival competition.

In the sleepy little town of Second Samuel, Georgia times are simple and laid back. It's the late 1940's and the folks of the town are looking forward to the return of " life as usual". There is excitement in the air! The war has just ended, and the memories of the tough times during the Great Depression are slowly beginning to fade. Everyone is ready for things to settle down and get back to normal. That should be an easy task for this small southern community, but the passing of one of the town's beloved citizens is causing quite a stir. In a place where everyone thinks they know everyone's business, things are about to get turned upside down. Nobody imagined that the death of one sweet little old woman could change their lives forever. When long hidden secrets are revealed, the folks of Second Samuel are left to wonder if things in town will ever be normal again! You will laugh. You will cry. You will get angry. You will rejoice. And you will leave the theater a changed person and very proud of your humanity.

Directing this heartwarming comedy is Michael Young. Known to Guild audiences for his many memorable roles on the stage, Michael is excited about this first opportunity to direct for WTG.
