William Gibson's acclaimed play "Golda's Balcony" is coming to Playhouse on Park. Opening officially tonight, May 18th, "Golda's Balcony" tells the inspiring tale of Golda Meir. From an impoverished child in Russia to the Prime Minister of Israel, Meir's life was filled with the mystery and breathtaking drama that makes for an intimate and compelling one-woman show.
Kate Alexander (Golda's Balcony, Master Class, The Play about The Baby, The Goat, Filumena, Three Tall Women, and most recently, Edward Albee's Occupant. (Florida Studio Theatre)) stars as the phenomenon herself, Golda Meir.
Director Terence Lamude (Remembrance (John Houseman Theatre), Away Alone, Poor Beat in the Rain, Famine, and I Do Not Like Thee Doctor Fell (Irish Arts Center)) brings to life this beloved play that invites you into the heart and mind of one of the 20th Century's great leaders.
The play opens officially tonight, May 18th, 2012 and will be followed by a complimentary wine and cheese reception for patrons to enjoy from 7:00pm to 8:00pm. Also, following our performance on Sunday, May 20th, audience members are invited to participate in a Talk Back with the production star, Kate Alexander.
Golda's Balcony runs May 18th through June 3rd at West Hartford's award winning professional theatre, Playhouse on Park, 244 Park Road.
