Up next in Westport Community Theatre's ETC Staged Reading series - an entertaining evening of theatre with the very funny, very provacative off-Broadway hit " Dog Sees God: Confessions of a Teenage Blockhead" by Bert V. Royal, directed by Kevin McNair. The reading will take place tonight, March 1, at 8 p.m. No admission, no reservations required.
Described as an "unauthorized parody" (and we aren't even allowed to tell you what it is a parody of...), "Dog Sees God" is a glimpse into what the lives of one of your most famous comic strip characters might be like as teenagers, 10 years later... and turns them upside down. If you have teenagers in your life - or about to have - or have had - you must see this reading.
"Dog Sees God" is scathingly funny... a guilty pleasure... a biting satire. It covers all of the familiar teenage issues with a group of kids you already know. And answers all those questions we all had throughout the years while following the famous comic strip...
This a footloose, no holds barred black comedy that brings plenty of laughs, lots of - and at the end, you may even find yourself saying "Good grief"...
Note: WCT's staged reading series strives to bring to the stage contemporary works from off-Broadway and new works. Our "Dog Sees God" staged reading is for more mature audiences and is not for younger members of the audience under the age of 12.
