Westport Community Theatre presents Parallel: A Festival of One-Act Plays on Friday, July 15 at 8:00 PM and Saturday, July 16 at 8:00 PM

FREE - WCT's Summertime Gift to the Community!

Join us once again for WCT's third annual summer festival of original one-act plays - admission is FREE, making it a perfect evening of entertainment for a July summer evening! Last year's festival played to a full house - and we're looking forward to another outstanding evening this year!

Parallel is produced in cooperation with Milford's Eastbound Theatre. The five-play one-act festival will be presented Friday, July 15 at 8:00 PM and Saturday, July 16 at 8:00 PM, and admission is free.

"Communion" opens with two women arranging refreshments for a church function, reflecting on some momentous changes at their church, and comparing how their husbands are responding. The play was written by Dave Carley of Toronto, Canada, and will be directed by Luke Lynch of Stratford. "Communion" features Sue O'Hara of Fairfield and Fran Cappelli of Milford.

"The Four Senses of Love" shows how two people with unique handicaps find love despite, and even because of, their differences. The play was written by Arthur Jolly of Medford, OR, and will be directed by Rob Watts of Milford. "The Four Senses of Love" features Adam Loewenbaum of Hamden and Rachel Rothman-Cohen of Milford.

"The Day that Brando Died" finds two old friends waiting to play tennis, and discovering a previously unknown connection from their past. The play was written by Lawrence DuKore of New York, NY, and will be directed by Dean Kyburz of Stratford. "The Day that Brando Died" features Manny Lieberman of Westport and Larry Greeley of Wilton.

"The Promise" examines complex family relationships and issues as a daughter tries to convince her aging mother that it is time to move to an assisted living community. The play was written by Joan Anderson and Dorothy Sanders of Fort Worth, TX, and will be directed by Mike Shavel of Stratford. "The Promise" features Virginia Lity of Bridgeport, Rosanne Nelson of Fairfield, and Ann Finateri-Laist of New Haven.

"Maybe in Another Universe" reveals unexpected, cataclysmic, and hilarious consequences of a one-night-stand. The play was written by Stacie Shellner of Pomona, CA and will be directed by Brian Michael Riley of Bridgeport. "Maybe in Another Universe" features Ryan Hendrickson of Stamford and Marissa McInereney of Prospect.
