ETC STAGED READING of ON AN AVERAGE DAY by John Kolvenbach, and directed by Alexander Kulcsar will be held Friday, June 25 at 8:00 PM. FREE for members and subscribers! $5 all others at the door

We invite you to join us for the final 2009 / 2010 staged reading in our successful ETC Staged Reading series, critically acclaimed by audiences!

ON AN AVERAGE DAY is a mystery play, a moving psychological drama and a black comedy, a thrill ride full of twists and turns. "Emotionally charged, monumental in its passion, and mind-boggling in intensity. You will be left with admiration and wonderment for a play that is beyond awesome." --Curtain Up.

The action takes place in the kitchen of a small rundown house in upstate New York, the family "estate" of two estranged brothers. Old newspapers are piled high and something is rotting so horribly in the fridge that the simple task of extracting a beer poses a major health risk. Robert lives here alone, lonely, paranoid and drunk, and in trouble with the law. His older brother Jack arrives, a solid family man, as neat and controlled as his sibling is wild and unraveled. Robert thinks Jack has come to help him out of his current complicated predicament - but slowly it becomes clear Jack has other ideas.

Brian Riley returns to WCT after his memorable performance in ETC's last reading, Orange Flower Water. Geoffrey Gilbert last appeared at WCT as Heisenberg in Copenhagen and was also seen in Orson's Shadow and Veronica's RooM. Alexander Kulcsar, WCT actor and director, has directed several readings at ETC, including A Picasso, The Goat (or who is Sylvia?), and The Dazzle; for WCT's mainstage he directed The Turn of the Screw, Sherlock's Last Case and The Best Man - and will be directing the classic thriller Angel Street at WCT next November / December!
