Wendy Goldberg Renews Contract with National Playwrights Conference

Wendy C. Goldberg has renewed her contract as artistic director of the Eugene O'Neill Theater Center's National Playwrights Conference, Variety reports.  Goldberg will now remain as artistic director through 2013. This year's conference is currently in progress and will run through July 31.

As artistic director, Goldberg has overseen such productions as Julia Cho's THE LANGUAGE ARCHIVE, which is to be produced by the Roundabout Theatre Company, as well as 1001 and THE RECEPTIONIST.  Goldberg herself has directed productions at various theaters, including the Guthrie, the Goodman, and the Paper Mill Playhouse, Variety reports.

The Eugene O'Neill Theater Center was awarded the 2010 Regional Theater Tony Award.  The Playwrights Conference has aided the careers of various playwrights, including August Wilson, Variety reports.  For more information, visit www.theoneill.org.
