WICC600 AM is pleased to announce a new weekly feature to fulfill the needs of the community. With the resurgence in popularity of Broadway and live theater, the station recently began a new feature, Katz Reviews, where longtime Westport resident Ed Katz reviews shows on Broadway as well as in Southern Connecticut.
As Danny Lyons, Cumulus Regional Program Director, says, "We are very excited to feature Katz Reviews Tuesday mornings at 6:50 AM on WICC600. Ed Katz tells it like it is when reviewing Broadway shows, as well as our local theater productions. You won't want to see a show until you hear Katz Reviews."
As Katz notes in his review segment, his "day job" is running Katnip Marketing, an award-winning Westport, CT-based marketing and media consulting agency he founded 9 years ago that works with clients in the arts, B2B, B2C, entertainment, government, healthcare, media, non-profit and professional services sectors. But his nights have been filled with theater, as an audience member as well as a writer and producer. "I am pleased to be able to help cover the arts and theater scene in New York and Fairfield County," Katz said. "Along with my marketing work, this has been a passion of mine for a long time and people have been asking me for theater recommendations for years.
Now I can share these with the wide audience that WICC600 offers." Ed has written a musical play currently in discussions with a multi-platinum selling group in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. He is also on the producing team for "The King's Speech"- the play- which is planning a run on Broadway. And Ed is a producer of an award-winning sci-fi rock comedy musical, "Save the Robots," which is looking at a theatrical run in Greenwich Village this summer.
Locally, Katz is on the board of directors for The Klein Memorial Auditorium in Bridgeport. After the reviews air live on WICC600 Tuesday mornings, they will be archived at the KatzReviews Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/KatzReviews and website, www.KatzReviews.com.

On the way home, Jim Buchanan's "Talk of the Town" covers the issues of the day as well as interaction with local callers.
