For its third new play contest, The Valley Repertory Company of Enfield will present 6 moving new dramas and 6 raucous new comedies by playwrights from all over the United States, chosen from 277 submissions.

These 12 semifinalist plays will be presented over two nights: Thursday, February 23rd and Friday, February 24th. Each night, Act One consists of three dramas, and Act Two consists of three comedies. Audience members vote to advance two dramas and two comedies per evening to the finals on Saturday, February 25th. The final night audience then selects a winning drama and a winning comedy, whose authors each receive a prize of $150.

This is an exciting opportunity for theatre lovers to see brand-new plays, most of them having their world premiere with Valley Rep, and to take part in encouraging and developing the careers of playwrights from across the country.

Performances are at 100 High Street in Enfield. Show dates are February 23, 24 and 25. Curtain is 8 P.M. These performances are likely to sell out, so advance ticket purchase is highly recommended. Tickets are $10 per individual performance; a prepaid package for both Thursday and Friday night’s performances, allowing you to see all 12 plays, is just $15. The 3rd LabWorks 15-Minute New Play Contest contains adult language and situations.
