Uriah Heep to Perform at Ridgefield Playhouse, 6/25

Britain's Uriah Heep in concert at The Ridgefield Playhouse, Saturday, June 25  Uriah Heep debuted in 1970 with the release of one of Hard Rock's milestone albums, Very ‘eavy...Very ‘umble. This British band has sold in excess of 30 million albums worldwide, and they tour non-stop on an international circuit playing in some 53 countries. Uriah Heep's concert set list features songs of the ‘70s and ‘80s, such as "The Wizard", "Free ‘n Easy", "Sunrise" and their monster hits "Easy Livin'", "July Morning" and "Lady in Black" plus some new material. These rockers will be in concert at The Ridgefield Playhouse on Saturday, June 25, at 8 p.m. Special guest is Whitewood, a southern rock band from Sherman, CT whose singles include "Sweet Home Alabama" and "That Smell". The musicians that make up Uriah Heep are Mick Box on guitar/ vocals, Trevor Bolder on bass/ vocals, Bernie Shaw who sings lead, Phil Lanzon on keyboards/ vocals and Russell Gilbrook on drums/vocals. Their sound is derived from heavy organ and guitar with dynamic vocals that soar above sonic backgrounds with acoustic and jazz elements. Uriah Heep was the first Western band to play in Soviet Russia during Gorbachev's glasnost efforts.
