Under the Streetlamp returns to The Ridgefield Playhouse ImageFeaturing former cast members of the Tony Award-winning Broadway sensation Jersey Boys, Under the Streetlamp returns to The Ridgefield Playhouse with a night of Doo-Wop, Motown, and old time Rock and Roll on Friday, October 5th at 8pm, part of the Ridgefield Magazine Broadway & Cabaret Series and the Pepsi Rock Series powered by Xfinity. This full-band show show includes popular songs from The Drifters, Roy Orbison, Nat King Cole, The Beach Boys, The Beatles, plus a "show-stopping" salute to Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons! Media partner for this great night of song is Connecticut Public Broadcasting.

Under the Streetlamp is a concert celebration of classic hits of the American Radio Songbook from the 1950s-1970s. The show features tight harmonies and slick dance moves that take audiences back to an era of sharkskin suits, flashy cars and martini shaker - a flashback to a time when, on hot summer nights, people would gather under a streetlamp to sing their favorite rock and roll songs. Classic hits first performed by Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons, Elvis Presley, Tom Jones, The Beatles, Roy Orbison, Bobby Darin and more are reborn for today's audiences in this evening of great music and hilarious behind-the-scenes tales, complete with an exceptional seven-piece band composed of world-class musicians.

With irresistible charm and rapport, Under the Streetlamp offers audiences the opportunity to get to know four critically acclaimed stars of stage and screen, Eric Gutman, David Larsen, Brandon Wardell and Shonn Wiley. While each performer gets his moment in the spotlight, their synergy and charisma as a group has drawn an extremely devoted nationwide following. Each performer carries with him an impressive list of credits. Between them, they have appeared on Broadway, in feature films and on television - including special appearances during the New Year's Eve celebration in Times Square, on "The Tonight Show," "The Primetime Emmy Awards," "The Tony Awards" and "The Oprah Winfrey Show."

After achieving initial success performing in and around Chicago, Under the Streetlamp aired its first PBS special in 2011, a second special in 2014 and then their third National PBS special in 2016. Also in 2017, the guys released "Harmonies for Healing," a two part docu-series shown on PBS station around the country, centered around a singing competition which shined a spotlight on the undeniable power of music to inspire and affect positive change in the lives of individuals in their communities.

For tickets ($52.50- $75) call or visit the box office, 203-438-5795 or go online at ridgefieldplayhouse.org. The Ridgefield Playhouse is a non-profit performing arts center located at 80 East Ridge, parallel to Main Street, Ridgefield, CT.
