On October 1st, TheatreWorks New Milford will present the World Premiere of If I Fell, by playwright and TheatreWorks Board Member, Jocelyn Beard.
Ms. Beard has edited countless books on theatre for Smith & Kraus Publishers. A veteran of NYU's film school and the Yale School of Drama, Jocelyn's award-winning plays have been produced by repertory theatres from Topeka, Kansas to Paris, France. Jocelyn is a member of the Dramatists Guild and the International Center of Women Playwrights.
The plot of If I Fell begins the morning after an unexpected encounter at the drive-in theatre between young lovers in 1965. Torn by pride and passion, fiery Carly and Frank's struggle to come to terms with their feelings for life and for each other threatens to set all of Savannah, Georgia ablaze. Caught in a time of titanic change, Carly and Frank both fight fiercely to hold onto the one thing that truly matters: love.
The cast features Maya Jennings Daley of Danbury, CT and Ian Arbues of Fairfield, CT. It is under the direction of Jocelyn Beard of Wingdale, NY and produced by Viv Berger of Middlebury, CT.
If I Fell runs Fridays and Saturdays from October 1 through Saturday October 16 with one Sunday matinee on October 10. Curtain time is 8:00 p.m. on Fridays & Saturdays and at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday. Tickets are $25 for reserved seating. Students and Military personnel and Veterans with ID will be admitted for $20.00. On Thursday, September 30th, Senior Citizens are invited to a free dress rehearsal at 8:00 p.m. Thursday October 7th at 8:00 p.m. is TheatreWorks' Pay-What-You-Want night where you name the price of your ticket. Tickets for BOTH Thursday shows MUST BE RESERVED online at theatreworks.us in advance due to new Covid policy.
All patrons and staff at TheatreWorks events will be required to wear a face mask covering nose and mouth, regardless of vaccination status, while inside the building.
