On May 15th, TheStage Repertory Company, in conjunction with The Palace Theatre in Danbury, will present a "one night only" performance of Ken Davenport's My First Time. The comedy marks the first production mounted by TheStage Repertory Company, a new Danbury-based theatre company.
My First Time, a comedy which recently enjoyed a two and a half year run in New York, features true stories about first sexual experiences, as shared anonymously on the Web site www.myfirsttime.com.
"We really wanted to do something fun and cutting edge for our first performance," said TheStage Rep's Executive Director Alicia Dempster about the company's first production. "We feel it is very important to encourage the development of new works and artists in our community and to produce shows that audiences might not see at other local theatres."
The production features Shawn Brown (Danbury), Jackie Decho-Holm (Danbury), Kristin Hoose (Danbury) and Ben Rosenbaum (Bethel). The show's creative and production team includes director Alicia Dempster (Danbury), producer Vicki Sosbe (New Milford) and lighting designer Brian Casella (Brookfield).
The show is being produced in association with The Palace Theatre, which has opened its doors as a production venue for arts performances and education in all disciplines. Stephen Snow, Artistic Director of The Palace, is committed to revitalizing the arts in our community. "Everyone should have access to great entertainment," stated Snow, "and great entertainment is what The Palace is about."
My First Time will run on May 15th, 2010. Curtain time is at 8:00pm and the door open at 7:00pm. General admission tickets are $17, with $15 tickets available to students and seniors. My First Time is recommended for mature audiences.
