The Windham Theatre Guild is proud to present a refreshingly new dramady...Becky's New Car by Steven Dietz, opening Friday, February 12th at the Burton Leavitt Theatre.
According to Becky Foster, protagonist of Steven Dietz's play, when a woman wants a new car, she wants a new life. Becky finds herself at a crossroads. She has a caring husband, a graduate student son, and a job at a car dealership-but, she's missing something. When wealthy widower Walter Flood walks into her dealership one evening, she sees an exciting new road. Will she take it? Dietz's play is presented with a lighthearted blend of humor, audience interaction, and a meaningful exploration of the lives of well-meaning characters in crisis.
Becky's New Car is directed by David Smith, who is a graduate of the University of Connecticut's theatre program and who previously directed The Love List for the Guild. The role of Becky will be portrayed by WTIC radio announcer, Angela Dias.
