The Warner Stage Company's ends its 2011-2012 Season with the much loved family musical ANNIE, July 28-August 5 on the Warner Main Stage. Winner of seven Tony Awards, ANNIE is based upon the popular Harold Gray comic strip Little Orphan Annie, with music by Charles Strouse, lyrics by Martin Charnin.
With equal measures of pluck and positivity, little orphan ANNIE (played by Sophie Rundhaug) charms everyone's hearts, despite a next-to-nothing start in 1930s New York City. She is determined to find her parents, who abandoned her years ago on the doorstep of a New York City Orphanage run by the cruel, embittered Miss Hannigan (Juliiette Garrison Koch). With the help of the other girls in the orphanage, ANNIE escapes to the wondrous and magical world of NYC. She eventually finds a new home and family in billionaire Oliver Warbucks (Jim Woods), his personal secretary Grace Farrell (Katie Scarlett Langham), and a lovable mutt, Sandy (played by Oscar the Dog).
ANNIE is directed by Julian Krom with musical director David Irvine and choreographer Sharon Wilcox.
Performances are Sat, July 28 & Aug 4 at 7:30, Sun., July 29 & Aug 5 at 2pm and Friday, Aug 3 at 7:30pm. Tickets are $20 | $26 | $33.50 and can be purchased by calling the Warner box office at 860-489-7180 or online at www.warnertheatre.org.
In celebration of the upcoming production of ANNIE, the ultimate story of adoption, family and happy endings, the Warner Theatre also supports its local pet shelters and adoption services.
Come to the Warner's Nancy Marine Studio Theatre lobby for a very special pet adoption event featuring LITTLE GUILD OF ST. FRANCIS, OUR COMPANIONS and SARAH RESCUE. You can meet some of Connecticut's most eligible adoptees and maybe create your own happy ending. Plus, meet Warner's Little Orphan Annie and her real-life rescue dog, Oscar (aka "Sandy"), who was a special needs rescue from Sarah Rescue, himself.
The event takes place on Thursday, August 2, 2012 at 5pm during Main Street Marketplace.
