The Met Opera in HD to Screen Mozart's THE MAGIC FLUTE at Ridgefield Playhouse

The Ridgefield Playhouse and Craig's Fine Jewelry Live in HD Series brings The Met Opera's annual holiday presentation of Mozart's The Magic Flute to the big screen with two encore performances on Wednesday, December 28 at 2 p.m. and 6 p.m.

Featuring a brief introduction from veteran news personality, Katie Couric, this 100-minute abridged version of Tony Award-winning director Julie Taymor's dazzling production also features an English translation by J.D. McClatchy.

The cast includes Ying Huang as Pamina, Matthew Polenzani as Tamino, Nathan Gunn as Papageno, Erika Miklósa as the Queen of the Night, and René Pape as Sarastro. Met Music Director Emeritus James Levine conducts.

With free tickets for children 18 and under, this 100-minute show is the perfect way for the entire family to experience the magic of The Met Opera. This was the groundbreaking broadcast that launched the Met's heralded Live in HD series, seen by opera lovers in movie theaters around the world. Adults and children alike were enchanted by the whimsical humor and breathtaking puppetry.
