Milford Arts Council is proud to present a solo exhibit of visiting artist J.T. Liss, an internationally represented photographic artist from New York City. Milford Arts Council invites the community to view the work of J.T. Liss during Firehouse Gallery hours which are Thursdays, 2-7pm and Fridays through Sundays: Noon - 4 pm. There will be an opening reception for J.T. Liss at The MAC's Firehouse Gallery, 81 Naugatuck Avenue, Walnut Beach, Milford, CT on February 21st from 5:30 - 7:00 pm and an artist talk and digital art workshop in the same location on February 24th at 1:00 pm. Bring your own laptop to Sunday's workshop or just come and observe. Tickets are $10 for Sunday only and light refreshments will be served at both events. Purchase tickets in advance at milfordarts.org. Limited to 25 participants.

J.T. Liss creates uniquely layered compositions and striking photography that challenge commentary of our current social constructs and tell stories of the human experience. Combined with his poetry to further accentuate his truth, the viewer will be able to experience multiple complexities of creativity to question their own realities, for J.T. believes that if a new thought enters the mind, even for the briefest of moments, then change has a chance.

J.T.'s work has been featured in exhibits throughout the U.S. and internationally with several solo & small group exhibits through in Barcelona, Spain and Saint Petersburg, Russia. J.T. is also a featured artist with The First City Project and Harlem Arts Festival. He has commissioned artwork at The Cecil, Harlem Public, The Honeywell, Bleu Magazine, while multiple pieces are on permanent display at his studio in East Harlem.

Equally important is J.T.'s passion for helping others. Being in the social work and education fields for the past 13 years he connected with grassroots non-profits throughout the United States and created Photography For Social Change where he holds events and gallery exhibits to raise awareness for these organizations while also giving a portion of proceeds to raise money for their cause.
