The MAC's Spot Night Series Welcomes Tony Winner Debbie Gravitte  Image

Tony Award Winner (Jerome Robbins' BROADWAY), Debbie Gravitte is one of Broadway's biggest personalities and she is coming to downtown Milford, CT on Saturday, March 2nd at 8pm for the MAC's Nite Spot Night series in Debbie Gravitte: Live and In Person. This series is produced in partnership with Pantochino Productions, and all performances are presented at The MAC, located at 40 Railroad Avenue South, Milford, CT. Debbie Gravitte: Live and In Person features Russ Kassoff, jazz pianist, composer, arranger, conductor and more. The duo will perform a collection of songs from Broadway to Big Band.

Gravitte has found herself in demand from the Broadway Stage to the concert stage and beyond. After making her Broadway debut in the original cast of They're Playing Our Song, she went on to appear in: Perfectly Frank (DRAMA DESK AWARD NOMINATION), Zorba, Chicago, and Les Miserables. She has performed her nightclub act worldwide, from New York's RAINBOW AND STARS, 54 BELOW, and BIRDLAND to London's PIZZA ON THE PARK, and back home again to Atlantic City, where she's had the honor of performing with Jay Leno, Harry Anderson, and the legendary George Burns.

A favorite with Symphony audiences, Gravitte has sung with over 175 Orchestras around the world. She has toured with Keith Lockhart and the Boston Pops, appeared with Lang Lang and the Chinese Philharmonic in Beijing, along with Peter Nero and the Philly Pops, National Symphony with Marvin Hamlisch, The NY Pops, Cleveland Symphony and more.

On television, Gravitte co-starred on the CBS series Trial and Error, was seen on NBC'S Pursuit of Happiness, and has starred in several specials for PBS, including Live From the Kennedy Center Ira Gershwin's 100th Birthday Celebration, The Boston Pops Celebrate Berstein, and more. She has four solo CD's to her credit, including her latest, BIG BAND BROADWAY, along with DEFYING GRAVITY, THE MGM ALBUM, and PART OF YOUR WORLD: THE MUSIC OF Alan Menken.

Gravitte has sung with the NEW YORK CITY BALLET in Peter Martin'S "THOU SWELL" at LINCOLN CENTER, appeared with Bette Midler in the Universal Feature, ISN'T SHE GREAT?, and can be heard as one of the voices in DISNEY'S THE LITTLE MERMAID. Debbie is the proud mother of three beautiful children.

Russ Kassoff is a longtime pianist and musical director for both Frank Sinatra and Liza Minnelli. He co-founded a big band that included the late Gerry Niewood; accompanied Tony Bennett, Rita Moreno (with whom he still continues as MD) , Paul Anka and many more; and recorded albums with people like Bucky and John Pizzarelli, Red Norvo, Carly Simon and Rod Stewart. Currently, Kassoff has been leading a 17-piece big band as musical director for choreographer Twyla Tharp's Broadway show tribute to

Frank Sinatra - Come Fly Away.

An eclectic collection of unique musical performances and some of the hottest stars of New York City's cabaret scene, these revues feature top notch artists, bands, comedy, and more. Nite Spots are presented in a cabaret-style listening room at the MAC set with candlelit tables, inviting patrons to BYOEEE - Bring Your Own Everything Except the Entertainment. Wine, beer, soft drinks, and snacks are also available in the Speakeasy Lounge. The MAC has been called "the sweetest little theatre along the Connecticut coastline," featuring an intimate setting with pitch-perfect acoustics.
