The Little Theatre Of Manchester Presents KISS ME, KATE Image

Featuring an outstanding cast, the award-winning production of Cole Porter's classic musical comedy, KISS ME, KATE, will be staged by with Little Theatre of Manchester November 2 - 18.

Passions run high as leading lady Lilli Vanessi and her ex-husband, actor/director Fred Graham, battle onstage and off in a production of Shakespeare's Taming of the Shrew. With romance, comedy, sophistication, and behind-the-scenes high jinks, KISS ME, KATE combines the irreverent humor of two brilliant writers: Cole Porter and William Shakespeare. Musical numbers include "So In Love," "Wunderbar," "Tom, Dick or Harry," "Too Darn Hot," "Brush Up Your Shakespeare," "I Hate Men," "Always True to You (In My Fashion)" and "Another Op'nin, Another Show."

The LTM production is directed by Gloria Trombley of Manchester, whose experience extends across a span of 30 years. Born and raised in Connecticut, Trombley did her graduate work in theatre and dance at Wesleyan University. She has been producing, directing, choreographing and teaching theatre in various universities, performing arts programs, as well as regional and community theatres since the early 1980s. Her production of 'Will Rogers Follies' was nominated by the San Francisco Bay Area Circle Theatre Critics for awards as Best Director and Best Production in the large Musical Theatre category. "I strongly believe that Cole Porter was way ahead-of-his-time, and knew that power, strength and success in relationships lie in kindness, fairness, civility and equality - not to mention love," said Trombley.

In addition to KISS ME, KATE, the award-winning Cole Porter created such classic Broadway hits as Anything Goes & High Society, and still to this day popular standards such as Night and Day, Let's Misbehave, I Love Paris, Let's Fall in Love and I Get a Kick out of You. In 1949, Kiss Me, Kate won The Tony Award for Best Musical Score and it ran for 1,077 performances on Broadway.

KISS ME, KATE will run November 2 to November 18, 2018, at Cheney Hall in Manchester, Connecticut. Tickets are available for purchase at CheneyHall.org or by calling the Cheney Hall box office at (860) 647-9824.

KISS ME, KATE is sponsored by KEY BANK.
