Phoebe's got a problem... No matter where she goes, no matter what she does, she is constantly finding herself in a musical. While this wouldn't be a problem to some folks, Phoebe tries to escape by taking a job in a laundromat. Everything is fine until one day Phoebe looks up and sees the audience, the lights, everything. Biz, Fab, and Cheer, three muses, explain to Phoebe that there is no escaping this musical until she finishes the show and follows the rules to get there. Reluctantly, and with more than a little sarcasm, Phoebe enlists the help of Gary, a pathetic cuckold who was just minding his own business. Jack and Jill enter and the race to finish the musical begins. Along the way, they encounter Heinrich von Baddie, Phoebe's boss and the representation of villainy in the play. Faced with impending doom (and marriage) Phoebe and her new friends sing themselves through many different emotions and stories, culminating in the classic confrontation of good and evil: a landlord wearing lederhosen and a government agent wearing a jet-pack.

The HITW cast includes: Joshua Ives and Anne Collin (both from New Britain), Christina Giannelli and Ashley Hamel (both from Middletown), Kevin Liftig (Cromwell), Meghan Rickard (Southington), Mairin McKinlay (Cheshire), Randy Boyd (Enfield) and Stephen Maher (West Hartford).

About Hole in the Wall Theater:

Hole in the Wall Theater (HITW) has been a leader and beacon in the Greater Hartford arts community since 1972. It is an award-winning, non-profit community theater and staffed entirely by volunteers.

HITW was founded by Ray Shinn and Ted Guhl; both of whom were instrumental in the theater's mission and longevity. It is HITW's goal to present theater to all regardless of resources. Unique in its creation as well as the manner in which it was run, HITW was the only theater in the state to run solely by its members through its biweekly gatherings, termed "General Meeting." General Meeting is responsible for choosing the plays presented, maintaining the physical plant, and creating, revising, and upholding the philosophy by which HITW was run.

Over the course of four decades, the theater has seen many homes throughout New Britain including Oak Street, North Street, Harvard Street, and its current home on Main Street. Despite its location, the philosophy of presenting Quality Theater to everyone remains the same.
