The Hartt School presents the musicals The Glorious Ones and Summer of ‘42 in repertory Wednesday, December 8, through Sunday, December 12. Performances of The Glorious Ones are on Wednesday, December 8, and Friday, December 10, at 7:30 PM, and Saturday, December 11, at 2:00 PM. Performances of Summer of ‘42 are on Thursday, December 9, and Saturday, December 11, at 7:30 PM, and Sunday, December 12, at 3:00 PM. All performances are in The Edward C. and Ann T. Roberts Foundation Theater at the Mort and Irma Handel Performing Arts Center, 35 Westbourne Parkway, Hartford. Admission is $20, with discounts for seniors, students, and groups. Admission is free for University of Hartford students, faculty, and staff with current University ID. The Glorious Ones is a joyfully naughty and bawdy musical that follows a 16th century traveling troupe of commedia dell'arte actors in their quest for love and glory. Book and lyrics by Lynn Ahrens and music by Stephen Flaherty. Directed by Hartt faculty member David Watson. Please note that viewer discretion is advised.

Fourth year Music Theatre students performing in The Glorious Ones are Alexander Levin as Flaminio Scala, Samantha Mitchell as a servant, Sasha Pasternak as Armanda Ragusa, Christina Rodi as Columbina, and Jeremy Sevelovitz as Dottore. Third year Music Theatre students include Alexandra Cutler as Isabella Andreini, Jayce Johnson as Pantalone, Charles South as Francesco Andrini, and Emily White as a servant.

In Summer of '42, three teenage boys have a summer they will never forget. Book by Hunter Foster; music and lyrics by David Kirshenbaum; based upon the novel and screenplay by Herman Raucher. Directed by Michael John McGann.

Fourth year Music Theatre students appearing in Summer of '42 include Jillian Soares as Dorothy, Adam Sarette as Oscy, and Mark Gagliardi as Mr. Sanders/Walter Winchell. Third year Music Theatre students include Scott Caron as Benjie, Eileen Conneely as Gloria, Nicholas Giuliani as Hermie, Lea Nardi as Aggie, David Raposo as Pete, and Danielle Westhead as Miriam.

The Hartt School is the comprehensive performing arts conservatory of the University of Hartford that offers innovative degree programs in music, dance, and theatre. Founded 90 years ago, Hartt has been an integral part of the University of Hartford since its charter merged the then Hartt School of Music, the Hartford Art School, and Hillyer College to create the University in 1957. 2010 marks Hartt's 90th year of providing world class performing arts education to students in Greater-Hartford and around the world.
