The Hartt School Community Division of the University of Hartford will hold auditions for dance roles in its fully-staged (abridged) production of Tchaikovsky's ballet The Nutcracker. Auditions will be held on Saturday, September 11, from 1:30 PM to 4:30 PM at the Handel Performing Arts Center, located at 35 Westbourne Parkway (at the corner of Albany Avenue) in Hartford. Experienced dancers ages 8 through 18 are encouraged to audition. Those auditioning must be warmed up and ready to dance. Ages 8-11 will be called from 1:30 PM -2:30 PM and ages 12 and up will be called at 3:00 PM-4:00PM. Pointe students should bring their pointe shoes to the audition. There is a $10 audition fee. If accepted for The Nutcracker, dancers must register as students in the Community Division Dance Department. There is no additional fee to participate in the production.
