The Hartt Community Division of the University of Hartford Holds Auditions For THE NUTCRACKER 9/13

The Hartt Community Division of the University of Hartford will hold auditions for dance roles in Tchaikovsky's ballet The Nutcracker. Auditions will be held on Sunday, September 13, from 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM at the Handel Performing Arts Center, located at 35 Westbourne Parkway (at the corner of Albany Avenue) in Hartford. Experienced dancers ages 8 through 18 are encouraged to audition. To participate in the audition or for more information, contact the Hartt Community Division Dance Department at (860) 768-6000 or e-mail dancedesk@hartford.edu. There is a $10 audition fee. If accepted for the Nutcracker, dancers must register as students in the Community Division dance department.

The Community Division will stage Act I beginning at the battle scene and Act II in its entirety as part of its annual Winter Dance Festival on December 18, 19, and 20, at Millard Auditorium on the campus of the University of Hartford. The production will be led by dance department chair Miguel Campaneria.
