EDGERTON CENTER for the PERFORMING ARTS presents the American Legends Series with Mitzi Gaynor - Interview Live On Stage
Presented in the style of an 'Actors Studio' presentation hosted by Jerry Goehring, Executive Director of The Edgerton Center. In addition to video clips of her career, the afternoon will feature a talkback with Ms. Gaynor answering questions from the audience.
Who, with 17 films to her credit, became one of the top singing and dancing motion picture stars of all time? Who conquered television with nine show-stopping spectaculars garnering 17 Emmy nominations and blockbuster ratings? Whose dazzling triple-threat talents made her arguably the top female nightclub and concert attraction of the era? The answer to all these questions is, simply, Miss Mitzi Gaynor.
She made her motion picture debut co-starring with her childhood idols Betty Grable and Dan Dailey in My Blue Heaven. The studio, quick to capitalize on the vivacious talent that would later propel Mitzi to the top ranks of show business, cast her in a succession of comedies and musicals including Golden Girl, Bloodhounds of Broadway, We're Not Married and The I Don't Care Girl. Mitzi delivered a star-making performance alongside Ethel Merman, Dan Dailey, Donald O'Connor and newcomer Marilyn Monroe in There's No Business Like Show Business. Following that film's success, she was signed to a lucrative Paramount contract, which would yield three film hits: The Birds and the Bees with George Gobel and David Niven, Anything Goes with Bing Crosby and Donald O'Connor and a dramatic turn in The Joker Is Wild.

EDGERTON CENTER for the PERFORMING ARTS presents the Glass House Series with AN EPIC NO LESS
An Epic No Less may be one of the more aptly named bands currently producing music. Between the richly layered electronic soundscapes and the intensely poetic lyrics serving as a window on the glory of God, their label debut Echo of Love is epic in the true sense of the word. The group was founded in 2009 by vocalist and keyboardist Todd Larson and drummer Daniel Chancellor, who met at a small church in Illinois. The two, armed with a 1970s keyboard, a drum kit and their computers, are fulfilling the realization of a project that God spoke of to Todd Larson as he labored in an orphans' hostel in Uganda several years ago. An Epic No Less have created worship songs with pop sensibilities that are positively reeking of heavy rhythmic electronica. Their live shows also feature Hannah Chancellor (wife of Daniel Chancellor) and Britney Stutz, a virtuoso violinist. Neil Endicott is a veteran, skilled guitarist, a talent he also provides for Tooth and Nail recording artist Run Kid Run.
