Dan Finnerty caught America's attention as the foul-mouthed wedding singer in the hit film Old School, performing his now-infamous foul-mouthed rendition of "Total Eclipse of the Heart", as well as his other appearances in Todd Phillips movies, Starsky & Hutch and The Hangover. What started as a drunken joke for Finnerty singing "I Am Woman" at a karaoke bar has spiraled out of control into The Dan Band, a cult hit that has garnered rave reviews from The New York Times, The L.A. Times, Variety and Rolling Stone. The band will exercise their comedic chops at The Ridgefield Playhouse on Saturday, May 17, at 8 p.m. Bissell House (378 Main St., Ridgefield) will pour a free glass of house wine or draught beer with dinner the night of this show when tickets/stubs are presented.

The Dan Band is well known for its covers of originally female-performed pop songs, with added obscenities and swearing. Their live show has become a staple of Los Angeles nightlife, with Entertainment Weekly naming it "the hottest ticket in town". Their TV concert special The Dan Band: I Am Woman aired on Bravo and was directed by McG with Steven Spielberg as executive producer.

The Dan Band has appeared on numerous TV shows, including Jimmy Kimmel Live, The Late Late Show, Last Call with Carson Daly, Ellen, Spike TV's Guys Choice Awards and The Tonight Show, where Dan Finnerty has been featured as a regular correspondent. The Dan Band has released two CDs: The Dan Band Live followed by Ho - A Dan Band X-Mas. The guys are currently working on a third, which Comedy Central Records called "The Wedding Album".

For tickets ($40), call the box office at 203-438-5795, or visit ridgefieldplayhouse.org. The Ridgefield Playhouse is a non-profit performing arts center located at 80 East Ridge, parallel to Main Street, Ridgefield, CT.
