The irresistible Latin grooves of Salsa stars Gilberto Santa Rosa and Grupo Niche will move and shake Mortensen Hall at The Bushnell Center for the Performing Arts on Friday, January 27, 2012 at 8:00 p.m. with one unforgettable performance that can only be described as SalsaPalooza.


Tickets for SalsaPalooza starring Gilberto Santa Rosa and Grupo Niche are on sale now and can be purchased only by visiting The Bushnell Box Office at 166 Capitol Avenue in Hartford, by calling (860) 987-5900 or online at www.bushnell.org. Ticket prices start at $38.00. Ticket prices do not include all applicable fees.

Gilberto Santa Rosa, known as EL Caballero de Salsa (The Gentleman of Salsa), is not only a Grammy Award winner and a multi Latin Grammy Award winner, but was voted Tropical Artist of the Decade by Billboard magazine. He has had an incredible 15 consecutive number one albums, all certified platinum, more than any other artist in tropical music history. Always an innovator, his shows have demonstrated his capacity to change with time through the evolution of popular music.

Grupo Niche, formed in 1982 in Bogota, Columbia, has remained immensely popular throughout Latin America for over three decades. This salsa orchestra, headed by founder Jairo Varela, with its vigorous up-tempo dance numbers and irresistibly romantic ballads, has recorded over 40 albums in their 30-year career, all certified platinum or gold in sales. Many of their hits are considered classics of Salsa music including the popular cumbia Canoa Rancha, and their most famous tune, Cali Aji,among many, many others.
