The new Broadway bound musical ANASTASIA, inspired by the Twentieth Century Fox motion pictures, begins performances at Hartford Stage tomorrow, May 12th, for a world premiere run scheduled to conclude June 19th.

ANASTASIA reunites the Tony Award-winning writers of the Broadway classic RAGTIME: book writer Terrence McNally, composer Stephen Flaherty, and lyricist Lynn Ahrens. Darko Tresnjak, Tony Award-winner for Best Direction of a Musical for A GENTLEMAN'S GUIDE TO LOVE AND MURDER, directs, and Peggy Hickey (A GENTLEMAN'S GUIDE TO LOVE AND MURDER) choreographs.

From the twilight of the Russian Empire to the euphoria of Paris in the 1920s, Anastasia, is the romantic and rousing story of a brave young woman attempting to discover the mystery of her past while finding a place for herself in the rapidly changing world of a new century.

Through Twitter and Instagram, Hartford Stage offers a sneak look at stars Mary Beth Peil, Derek Klena and Christy Altomare on stage. Visit hartfordstage.org.
