TV Chef Robert Irvine Set for Ridgefield Playhouse, 11/17

If anyone can create a cooking frenzy, it's TV personality Chef Robert Irvine, star of Food Network's Restaurant: Impossible, The Cooking Channel's Dinner: Impossible and a new show that premieres in November called Restaurant Express on the Food Network. Chef Irvine is bringing a really big show to The Ridgefield Playhouse on Sunday, November 17, at 8 p.m. This is not a cooking demo. Much like Robert's TV shows Dinner: Impossible and Restaurant: Impossible, Robert walks into the theater with no knowledge of what he is about to face.

The high-energy chef and restaurateur will cook in his multimedia, multi-sensory style making cooking an athletic event. A wine and cheese tasting will take place in the lobby at 7:15 p.m., and a chef's signing after the show will feature Irvine's books, shirts and gift items. This special event is partially underwritten by Albano Appliance & Service, No. 109 Cheese and Wine, and Whole Foods Market Danbury and is part of the Moffly Media Entertaining Conversations Series.

With Robert Irvine in the house, cooking is a theatrical event taking cooking places it's never gone before, with physical challenges, culinary challenges and more. Cooking is merely the vehicle for a crazy and entertaining ride. Brand new music and video content specifically produced for this show combine seamlessly with the cooking to provide an experience like no other. Multiple cameras are set up on the stage to provide a close-up view of the master at his craft. Throughout the show, Chef Irvine will face unique culinary challenges in front of a live theater audience.

"Don't expect to come to this show and just sit and watch. This is an opportunity to let loose and have a good time! Expect to stand, yell, dance (yes, dance!) and become part of the action on stage. Every challenge Robert receives will require assistance, and members of the audience serve as his sous chefs and assistants. Whether you are the worst cook in America or a Master Chef, be ready for Robert to call on you to help him complete his challenges," explains Allison Stockel, Executive Director of The Ridgefield Playhouse.

Chef Irvine has cooked his way through Europe, the Far East, the Caribbean and across America on his two hit Food Network series, "Dinner: Impossible" and "Restau- rant: Impossible". He is the author of Mission: Cook! - My Life, My Recipes, And Making The Im- possible Easy.
