The Official Blues Brothers Revue, produced by Dan Aykroyd and Judith Belushi, with Musical Director Paul Shaffer, brings back the live concert extravaganza that was the Blues Brothers. With the humor and set list from the original film and albums, this event will honor Chicago's history of blues, soul and gospel in the true spirit of the original Blues Brothers, starring Wayne Catania as Jake and Kieron Lafferty as Elwood. They will play the classics such as "Soul Man", "Rubber Biscuit", "Sweet Home Chicago", "Rawhide" and "Gimme Some Lovin" tonight, March 14, at 8 p.m. at The Ridgefield Playhouse.
Bissell House (378 Main St., Ridgefield) is offering a free glass of house wine or draught beer with dinner the night of the show when tickets/stubs are presented. An AllShows.com VIP Party Pass ($25 addt'l per person), which includes a pre-show cocktail party 6:30 - 7:15 p.m. with open bar, hors-d'oeuvre and priority parking is available for this show, which is part of the Xfinity Rock Series, Ridgefield Magazine Broadway & Cabaret Series and Clark Construction Comedy Series with media sponsor The Peak 107.1fm.
Paul Shaffer, The Blues Brothers musical director, is known for his work with Saturday Night Live and Late Night with David Letterman. His Blues Brothers Revue is called "A hand-clappin', foot-stompin' good time" by Chicago Theatre Look, and Jeff Johnson of The Chicago Sun Times raved that the show has "Infectious and unbridled energy...it blows the roof off."
