Founded in 1997 by Ron McNeil, John Lennon impersonator and President of The Fab Four Corp, the group began performing Beatles music throughout Southern California. The Fab Four's attention to detail and amazing talent paid off and before long, they were performing for audiences on four different continents. In 2013, the Fab Four received an Emmy Award for their PBS special filmed in 2012.
When The Beatles rose to fame in the early 1960s, their intense popularity became known as Beatlemania and they acquired the nickname "the Fab Four". They were the most influential band of the rock era and still hold the title of the best-selling band in history, with estimated sales of over 800 million physical and digital albums worldwide. They have had more number-one albums on the British charts and sold more singles in the UK than any other act. They are also the best-selling music artists in the United States, with 178 million certified units. They have received seven Grammy Awards, an Academy Award for Best Original Song Score and fifteen Ivor Novello Awards. The group was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1988, and all four main members were inducted individually from 1994 to 2015. Though the band broke up in 1970, the Beatlemania still hasn't ended. The Fab Four tribute band perfectly emulates the style of the original Beatles and gives all Beatles fans what they've been craving since 1970 - the chance to see the band back together again.
If these reviews from folks who saw The Fab Four recently are any indication, it will be "a really big show": "We couldn't have enjoyed the Fab Four more! They were excellent musicians, good entertainers and very attuned to their audience! As baby boomers, we were transported back to our youth! The music was incredible, and sounded so much better than the days of hi-fi and stereo... Please, please bring them back next year! We'll be there!" Or this one: "We started at the beginning - '60s Liverpool - and progressed through the stages of musical change. Every number was great, stage presence terrific, banter entertaining. From what I could see, even the instruments were authentic, at least from the period. Really, a great show and everybody was up on their feet, from us original fans right up to the kids. The interlude with only 'John' on the stage, performing "Imagine" was very touching."
