Bridgeport Actor Christopher Finch is featured as the male lead in the Square One Theatre production of Now Or Later, a thought-provoking, smart and witty political drama, playing now through November 20 (2016).
No stranger to politics, Christopher Finch is the son of former Bridgeport Mayor, Bill Finch. After seeing the production, some audience members might wonder if the play is art imitating life or life imitating art.
Christopher Finch is making his Square One Theatre stage debut although he did appear in a staged reading of From White Plains at the Stratford Library this past summer. His area theatre credits include Take Me Out, A Raisin in the Sun at the Bijou Theatre in Bridgeport, Orange Players one-act play festival plus the East/West Play Fest with the Eastbound & Westport Community Theatre. In addition, he has appeared on ABC's "General Hospital." In addition to his theatre training at HB Studios and T. Schreiber Studios in NYC, he is currently pursuing his law degree from the University of Connecticut.
Square One Theatre opens its 27th Anniversary Season with Christopher Shinn's Now or Later. In reality as well as in the play...it's real time in a hotel room on election night as the returns are being tallied and announced. The gay son of the favored presidential candidate sends his father's team into crisis mode when controversial photos of him at a college party go viral, potentially sparking an international incident, allowing audiences the opportunity to explore more fully what is at stake in these complex clashes of culture, government, freedom of expression and personal responsibilities.
In addition to Finch, the cast of Now or Later includes Jennifer Ju (Milford) and PatRick Kelly (Ridgefield) plus two Square One Subscriber Award-Winning favorites Pat Leo (Monroe) and Peggy Nelson (Hamden) in addition to Joseph Maker (Stamford). Tom Holehan (Stratford) is the director.
It's the second season for Square One Theatre at its NEW LOCATION, on the stage of Stratford Academy at 719 Birdseye Street in Stratford, Connecticut. Square One's Artistic Director, Tom Holehan has re-configured the Academy's expansive stage into an intimate 64-seat black box-type theatre. The audience is literally seated (in new padded chairs) on the stage. No audience member will be more than 15 feet from the stage and actors. Ample parking is available in the school parking lots.
