Tom Holehan, Artistic Director and Richard Pheneger, General Manager of the 26 year-old Square One Theatre Company, announce that the theatre's new location will be at Stratford Academy at Johnson House, an arts magnet school located at 719 Birdseye Street in Stratford, Connecticut, just over a mile beyond its former location. Stratford Academy offers patrons plenty of FREE parking.

Holehan and Pheneger are greatly indebted to Stratford Schools Superintendent Dr. Janet Robinson, Stratford Academy principal Maureen Didomenico and Head Custodian Frank Kalakay for their invaluable assistance in providing this new space to the theatre which after 25 years had to vacate its Main Street theatre following the end of last season.

According to Dr. Janet Robinson "It is only fitting that the Stratford School District that values arts education would partner with a theatre group. We are only happy to share our facility to host Square One Theatre and assist them in bringing great performances to the community."

Stratford Academy's expansive stage will be reconfigured into an intimate 64-seat black box-type theatre for Square One's purposes. The audience will actually be seated (new padded chairs) on the stage, too, insuring that all patrons have a good seat to hear and see. With this redesigned, modern venue no audience member will be more than 15 feet from the stage.

The task of finding a new home took a year-long search involving Square One's Management, Advisory Board Members as well as audience members suggesting and exploring potential area locations. Management's one and only stipulation about relocating was that the Theatre 'must remain' in Stratford. The theatre management thanks the theatre's Advisory Board members, especially Barbara Blosveren, Carole Fanslow, Judy Keegan and, in particular, Patricia Patusky for their diligent and time consuming efforts in securing a new space for Square One.

The 64-seat black box theatre means a greater number of performances for each production. The new performance schedule of each production includes every Thursday at 7pm; Fridays at 8pm; every Saturday at both 4pm and 8pm andevery Sunday at 2pm.

Square One Theatre's 2015-16 season includes:

Mass Appeal, Bill C. Davis' brilliantly funny yet compassionate playing November 5 through 22 (2015); Bruce Graham's The Outgoing Tide, which hums with dark humor and powerful emotion playing March 3 thru 20 (2016) andMotherhood Outloud a joyous, moving, hilarious and thrilling theatrical event about parenthood playing May 12 thru 29 (2016).
