Sharon Playhouse Announces 2019 60th Anniversary Season!  Image

Sharon Playhouse in Sharon, CT under the management of Artistic Director Alan M-L Wager and Managing Director Robert Levinstein, announces the casting and creative teams for its 2019 60th Anniversary mainstage summer season.

Celebrating the 60th Anniversary of presenting top quality entertainment, the playhouse will continue the tradition of mixing talent from Broadway and television, from New York to Los Angeles, as well as locals from the Litchfield/Dutchess county region. As Artistic Director Wager says, "There is a wealth of talented performers in this community that have gone untapped in the past few years and we are very excited to get them back on stage at the Playhouse."

The 2019 Summer Season is as follows:

CRAZY FOR YOU

(June 21-July 7)

Leading the cast will be Broadway veterans Amanda Lea LaVergne (Annie) as Polly, Joey Sorge (A Bronx Tale) as Zangler along with Justin Boccitto as Bobby.

They will be joined by Addison Garner as Irene, Emily Soell as Lottie, Ryan Thomas Curley as Lank, Duane Estes as Emmett, John Champion at Eugene Fodor, Barbara Zucker-Pinchoff as Patricia Fodor, Julianna Babb as Tess, Heather Klobukowski as Patsy with ensemble members Delaney Bailey, Dave Cadwell, Amber Cameron, Renee Griese, Liam Grimaldi, Katie Hardin, Tony Harkin, TJ Kubler, Michelle Lemon, Bobby MacDonell, Joshua Spencer, TJ Swetz and Daniel Warman.

The creative team is Sarah Combs (Director), Justin Boccitto (Choreography), Eric Thomas Johnson (Music Direction), Kurt Alger (Costume and Wig Design), Zach Pizza (Lighting Design), Jeremy Oleksa (Sound Design). Casey Cook is the Stage Manager and Ann Barkin is the Assistant Stage Manager.

DISNEY'S BEAUTY AND THE BEAST

(July 19-August 4)

The cast will feature Trevor Martin as the Beast, Becky Whitcomb as Belle, Jesse Swimm as Lumiere, Michael Kevin Baldwin as Cogsworth, Debbie Prutsman as Mrs. Potts, Johanne Borge Kesten as Madame, Leigh Martha Klinger as Babette, Daniel Patrick Smith as Gaston, Angel Hernandez as LeFou, RJ Vercellone as Chip and Michael Britt as Maurice. The ensemble will be comprised of Delaney Bailey, Megan Bowen, Sarah Cuoco, Geoffrey Emmett, Aidan Farren, Kelly Follette, Renee Griese, Susie Hackel, Tony Harkin, Heather Klobukowski, Marc Crawford Leavitt, Daniel Pahl, James Rose, Payton Turpin and Jillian Wessel.

The creative team is: Alan M-L Wager (Director), Cheryl Swift (Choreography), Patrick Hoagland (Music Direction), Keith Schneider (Costume Design), Paula Schaffer (Wig Design), Jamie Roderick (Lighting Design) and Jeremy Oleksa (Sound Design). Stacy Blackburn is the Stage Manager and Alexandra D'Agostino is the Assistant Stage Manager.

JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOR DREAMCOAT

(August 9-August 25)

Headlining the cast is Max Swarner as Joseph, Bill Morris as Jacob/Potifar and Michael Glavan as Pharaoh. They will be joined by Alex Colavecchio, Ryan Thomas Curley, Alora Eisen, Tony Harkin, Stefan Izydorczak, Michelle Lemon, Jaclyn Mercer, Daniel Pahl, Sam Snyder, TJ Swetz and Mijon Zulu

The creative team is Russell Garrett (Director/Choreographer), Jacob Carll (Music Director), Tom Swetz (Set Design), Jamie Roderick (Lighting Design), and Graham Stone (Sound Design). Anne Barkin is the Stage Manager.

NUNSENSE

(August 30-September 15)

The final show of the summer season will feature Broadway's Mary Stout as Mother Regina, Tamara Della Anderson as Sister Hubert, Jeanne Tinker as Sister Amnesia, Kimberly Chesser as Sister Robert Anne and Krista Kurtzberg as Sister Mary Leo.

The creative team is: Teri Gibson (Director/Choreographer) Eric Thomas Johnson (Music Direction), Jamie Roderick, (Lighting Design), Graham Stone (Sound Design)

As a Special Event, the Sharon Playhouse is pleased to welcome Michael Berkeley'S RETURN OF THE DIVAS for two performances only on July 13 & 14. This spectacular musical feast features local ladies and gents in fully staged Salute to Broadway.

The evening is Conceived, Directed and Musically Directed by Michael Berkeley and features choreography by Cheryl Swift. Lori Belter (Associate Director), Pamela Chassin (Production Coordinator), Jamie Roderick (Lighting Design), Tom Swetz (Set Design).

Scheduled to appear in RETURN OF THE DIVAS are Nancy Auffarth, Delaney Bailey, Michael K. Baldwin, Patricia Best, Darcy Boynton, Debbie Buslik, Tamara Cachione, Carianne Callinan, Amber Cameron, Phoebe Conklin, Julia DiMarzo, Rodney Dugas, Frank Fasano, Maria B. Hickey, Chloe Hill, Wanda Houston, Betsy Howie, Sara Huber, Johanne Kesten, Glenda Lauten, Amy LeBlanc, Tess Marks, Susan Mieras, Didi Moniot, Michelle Morrill, Mary Murfitt, Emma Ohler, Roxie Quinn, Sabrina Roberts, Becky Sawicki, Jamie Weisberg, Katie Weiser

The Playhouse will also offer another full Children's Theatre program under the direction of Julianna Babb and Michael K. Baldwin which culminates in performances on the Sharon Playhouse mainstage with two different sessions, Disney's Beauty and The Beast, Jr. (July 27 & 28) and and Disney's Aladdin, Kids (August 17 & 18).

In addition to the four main stage productions and Children's Theatre offerings, plans are under way to bring special events, concerts, cabarets and staged readings to the Bok Gallery, the other performance space at the Playhouse, truly making it a year-round theater for the Litchfield County community and surrounding Connecticut, Massachusetts and New York communities.
