As a prelude to the upcoming Mainstage season, Playhouse on Park presents Red Light Winter by Adam Rapp. The story revolves around two college friends on a trip to Amsterdam. There they are entangled in a love triangle with a young prostitute, and return home to face a much darker truth. Described in The Guardian as "unflinching, intense, and bleakly hilarious", this 2006 Pulitzer Prize finalist is the first show of the brand new Playhouse on The Edge series. This series will present new and provocative contemporary plays to challenge and enhance the experiences of the Hartford area audience.
Starring in Red Light Winter are Shannon Michael Wamser as Davis, Kieran Mulcare as Matt, and Zoe Farmingdale as Christina. Mr. Wamser is an actor/writer/director whose previous Playhouse credits include Of Mice and Men (George) and an adaptation of Comedy of Errors (writer). Mr. Mulcare is making his Playhouse debut, and he was previously seen on Fox's The Following and as the title role in Hamlet at Hudson Valley Shakespeare. Ms. Farmingdale's acting credits include Bye Bye Birdie at Family Musical Theatre (Kim MacAfee) and A Christmas Carol at The Theatre Company at Debaun (Christmas Past), and she was recently seen on The Playhouse stage in Cabaret (Helga).
