Shakespeare on the Sound presents a new fundraiser, "ShakesBeer," under a big tent in Rowayton's Pinkney Park June 4 (Saturday) with live music provided by the six-piece rock and funk band "Miles."
The site is the venue of the outdoor production of "Hamlet" June 16-July 3 and proceeds support the play and the theater company's apprentice and educational activities all year-around..
The event features a local home brew beer-tasting contest with at least 10 home brewers offering their crafts. In addition, Heineken is sponsoring a selection of eight different beers, including Heineken, La Gunitas, Dos Equis, Amstel Light and more.
LobsterCraft and The Local Meatball will be in the park providing their fare from their trucks for cash or credit card.
Additionally, the event includes live and silent auctions.

"Hamlet" represents Shakespeare on the Sound's 21st year of presenting the work of a playwright who captures the human condition so masterfully that 400 years after his death his plays still speak to all people.
