Long Wharf Theatre announces that Entertainment Events' production of Sister's Christmas Catechism: The Mystery of the Magi's Gold, by Maripat Donovan with Jane Morris and Marc Silvia, will return to Long Wharf Theatre on Stage II from December 5 through December 17, 2017.
Nonie Newton-Riley, who has delighted Long Wharf Theatre audiences in the past, will return in her role of Sister. The New Haven Theatre Jerk blog describes Newton-Riley's improvisational skills as "heaven-sent." "We are thrilled to welcome our favorite nun back to Long Wharf Theatre for this holiday treat," said Artistic Director Gordon Edelstein.
In this holiday mystery extravaganza, by the author of Late Nite Catechism, Sister takes on the mystery that has intrigued historians throughout the ages - whatever happened to the Magi's gold? Employing her own scientific tools and assisted by local choirs as well as a gaggle of audience members, Sister creates a living nativity unlike any ever seen. With gifts galore and bundles of laughs, Sister's Christmas Catechism is sure to become a new holiday tradition.
"A mystery, a quiz on the Catholic Christmas story and a bunch of unsuspecting audience members who make up one of the most motley looking nativity scenes you'll ever see are all part of the non-stop laugh fest that is Sister's Christmas Catechism: The Mystery of the Magi's Gold," raved American TheatreWeb.
Tickets to Sister's Christmas Catechism start at $29.
