Revered actor Charles Grodin can be seen in the new film While We're Young starring Ben Stiller, Naomi Watts and Adam Driver in theaters on March 27, but he can also be seen in person up-close-and-personal at The Ridgefield Playhouse! On Tuesday, April 21, at 7:30 p.m., Mr. Grodin will bring the audience through showbiz with his own personal journey. In this return engagement, Grodin will tell it all as it actually happened in his more than 50 years as an actor, comedian, author, and former talk show. Probably best known for his role alongside Robert De Niro in the 1988 classic, Midnight Run, Charles Grodin has earned Emmy and Golden Globe Awards. Ticket holders may enjoy a special $45 prix-fixe menu at Bernard's (20 West Lane, Ridgefield) the day of this event when tickets are presented; reservations suggested. This show is partially underwritten by Nutmeg Livery and is part of Moffly Media Entertaining Conversations Series and?Clark Construction Comedy Series with media sponsor WFUV 90.7fm.

The New York Times calls Grodin "A first rate story teller". Newsweek raves that he is a "Natural born raconteur". His stellar roles span a broad range of films including Roman Polanski's Rosemary's Baby (1968), The Heartbreak Kid, Catch-22 and the hits Heaven Can Wait, Taking Care of Business, Seems Like Old Times, The Great Muppet Caper, The Woman in Red, The Lonely Guy, Ishtar The Couch Trip and more. One of his most memorable performances was his role as George Newton in the 1990s comedy franchise Beethoven, where he repeatedly had his face licked by a 200-pound St. Bernard -- yuk! Charles Grodin was recently honored by the Connecticut Press Club as the recipient of the Mark Twain Award for Humor (2014).
