Pulitzer Prize Winning FENCES Opens at Ridgefield Theater Barn, 2/2 ImageThe Ridgefield Theater Barn will present Fences, the Pulitzer Prize, Tony, and Drama Desk Award-winning play by August Wilson beginning Friday, February 2nd at 8pm. Directed by Katherine Ray, and produced by Craig David Rosen, performances will continue Friday and Saturday evenings through February 24th, with Sunday matinees February 11th & 18th at 2pm.

Bringing together an incredible ensemble of actors from the tri-state area, the production features Shelby Davis, Dan Fedrick, Dania Fedrick, Kevin Knight, Tracey McAllister, Foster Evans Reese, and Steffon Sampson.

Set in the 1950s, Fences is the sixth in Wilson's ten-part American Century Cycle. Like all the American Century plays, it explores the evolving African-American experience and examines race relations, among other themes. Winning multiple awards, the play was first developed at the Eugene O'Neill Theater Center's 1983 National Playwrights Conference.

Due to strong language and adult themes, the play is recommended for mature audiences only.

The Ridgefield Theater Barn is located at 37 Halpin Lane. Seating is cabaret style and audiences are encouraged to bring food drinks to enjoy before the show. Doors open one hour prior to curtain. Tickets ($35 for adults, and $28 for students, veterans, and seniors), are available at ridgefieldtheaterbarn.org.
