This exciting series continues with Eve Lederman's Let It Come Down on Tuesday, February 9 at 7:30pm. The mission of Playwrights on Park is to produce original plays and musicals, therefore fostering emerging and established playwrights.
Each reading features a new work, where audience members participate in a talk back session with the playwright, director and cast members. Audience members are also provided with response cards at the end of each reading. Inspired by deposition transcripts from a malpractice case, Let It Come Down portrays the relationship between patient and therapist as a seductive love more powerful and volatile than any romance. Rachel is exploring family secrets with her maternal therapist, but when the doctor faces a lawsuit for abruptly terminating treatment, she paints Rachel as violent and an explosive, life-altering battle ensues. This tale of betrayal ignites a dialogue about the dynamics of therapy and the blurry line between obsession and love. Eve's memoir Letters From My Sister: On Life, Love and Hair Removal was published by Skyhorse Publishing in 2014 and released on Audible.com.
