Matters of importance to contemporary teen-agers in school are explored in Playhouse on Park's production of Homeroom: The Musical. The show begins with Jeff, expressing the belief that the kids in his homeroom have nothing in common except for their last name starting with the letter "V". Fifteen songs later, Jeff is more aware of the similarities than the differences. The teens come together to share their feelings regarding relationships, academic success and failure and the significance of secrets, lies, loss and lockers. Their individual stories weave together a musical that addresses themes of understanding, acceptance, independence and responsibility. Homeroom sheds light on important lessons for our time that middle school through high schoolers, as well as their families, will appreciate and enjoy. Directed by Dawn Loveland. Musical Direction is by Colin Britt. Choreographed by Darlene Zoller.

"Most young people feel different, but don't talk about it. One isolated teenager could become a victim and another could become a bully. 'Homeroom' opens up a dialogue that can change the way our children see each other and themselves. I would like to see 'Homeroom' in every school." -Dr. Dan Gottlieb, nationally recognized Psychologist and Family Therapist

Performances run from February 11-20th, times vary. Tickets are $20 adults, $18 students, seniors and Let's Go Arts! Members, reserved seating. Call for group and school rates.
