Beginning on November 12th, Playhouse on Park will be presenting the first production in its Young Audiences Series, "Bunnicula".
Based on the book by James and Deborah Howe, "Bunnicula" is fun, family-friendly show with a spooky twist. One stormy night. Chester, the cat, and Harold, the dog, are in for a surprise when their owners, the Monroes, arrive home with a new pet bunny. Unfortunately, little does the family know, this is no ordinary bunny; it is a vampire bunny.
"Bunnicula" stars a host of Connecticut talents and Playhouse on Park favorites such as West Hartford's Steven Michael Mooney as Harold, the Dog (You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown), Amanda Forker of Wethersfield as Mrs. Ann Monroe, Tim Hache of Waltham, MA as Mr. Monroe, and Veronique Hurley of New York as Chester, the Cat (Around the World in 80 Days) as well as Andover's Thomas Beebe as Pete and Lauren Cassot of Simsbury as Toby.
The show is approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes long (including intermission) and recommended for ages 6 and up. In addition, following each performance, you and your young theatergoer can meet the cast in the lobby and/or enjoy a meal with them at dining partner, AC Petersen Farms Family Restaurant next door. Plus while you're there, kids will be treated to a FREE Bunnicula Sundae with the purchase of a kids meal!
To add to the fun, kids can also have their artwork displayed in The Playhouse lobby. Download any (or all) of the coloring pages available on our website, then bring them along to The Playhouse to have it showcased in our lobby thoroughout the run of Bunnicula (make sure to include the child's name).
Playhouse on Park is proud to kick start their Young Audience Series with this production. In the next few months, they will also be bringing you classics such as "Go, Dog, Go" and "The Frog Prince" as well as the Mad Science spectaculars, "Fire and Ice" and "Young Wizards".
