Playhouse on the Green, Bridgeport's not-for-profit community theater, has added an extra performance of its production of one of the most popular and powerful stage dramas of our time, Twelve Angry Jurors, on Friday, February 27 at 8PM. The original teleplay of Twelve Angry Jurors is by Reginald Rose, adapted for the stage by Sherman L. Sergel.

Remaining performances are Friday, February 20 at 8PM; Saturday, February 21 at 3PM and 8PM; Sunday, February 22 at 3PM; and Friday, February 27 at 8PM.

Twelve Angry Jurors is the approved adaptation of the classic play Twelve Angry Men that features a mixed cast of men and women. The 1957 film version starred Henry Fonda.

In Sergel's 1960 stage play, based on the 1954 Rose teleplay, twelve jurors must decide the fate of a young man accused of murder. It seems like an "open and shut" case until one juror stands up for our American judicial system and insists that personal emotions and fear must not influence this life or death decision. Will he succeed, or is the evidence against the accused - and the jury's bias against him - too strong? This play, one of the most often-produced in North America in its various versions, is as relevant today as it was nearly 50 years ago.

Matt Schicker, Producing Artistic Director for Playhouse on the Green, directs. Carl Tallent is Set Designer; Donald Rowe is Lighting Designer; Meredith Neal is Costume Designer; Jim DeVivo is Sound Designer; Natalie Inzero is Production Stage Manager. Marketing by graygraham.

The Playhouse on the Green cast includes Lucy Babbitt of Stratford, Kent R. Brown of Fairfield, Mark Frattaroli of Stratford, Molly Garbe of Fairfield, Daryl Guberman of Stratford, Jake Hall of Bridgeport, Virginia Lity of Bridgeport, Nigel Rees of Milford, Steve Scarpa of New Haven, Kevin Shea of Norwalk, Fredda Takacs of Trumbull, David Victor of Fairfield, and John Zanowiak of Bridgeport.
